Step into the world of digital illustration with Lindsey Rouleau. This beginner-friendly class is designed for those who feel drawn to creating digital artwork but aren’t sure where to begin, or for those who have already dabbled in Procreate but want to feel more at home within the app.
Supplies required: iPad, ProCreate app, Apple Pencil (or any other compatible stylus).
We’ll approach digital illustration the same way you would any traditional art form: slowly, intuitively, and with room to explore. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to navigate Procreate’s interface, work with brushes and layers, experiment with color, and learn more basic tools to help you get started. By the end of the course, students will create their own digital drawing using the skills they have learned.
This class is also an invitation to explore how you can use digital illustration as a tool for other creative work. From creating mockups, sketches, graphics and more, you’ll be introduced to the many directions this skill can take. You don’t have to have aspirations to become a professional illustrator to take this course — students from all different backgrounds are encouraged to learn how Procreate can work for them.
Students should bring a fully charged iPad with the Procreate app installed, any compatible stylus, and a notebook.

About Your Instructor
Lindsey Rouleau is an illustrator and muralist rooted in a lifelong love of drawing and painting. She began her creative career as a graphic designer, and now days she blends those digital skills with her love for hands-on artistry. She uses tools like her iPad and VR to dream up and map out murals before bringing them into the physical world. She has enjoyed creating murals for clients such as Wild Iris, Matcha Magic, and many residential clients. She lives and creates in Prescott, Arizona with her husband and two kids.
