What is Toothpick?
Our vision is to bring artists under one roof in an environment that supports professional growth, personal expression, and community engagement. We will offer art classes, workshops, exhibitions, and creative events that are welcoming and accessible to all. Our resident artists will have a healthy and shared environment to meet clients, show and sell their work, and develop their craft.
At the core of our business model is the belief that all boats rise with the tide. We grow by growing together—supporting our artists not through competition, but through collaboration, transparency, and shared opportunity. By designing systems that are simple, scalable, and rooted in care, we’re building something sustainable for the long term—something this community has been missing for too long. We’re making room—for ourselves and the next generation of artists who deserve to see what’s possible when support is at the foundation.

What should I expect during the healing process, and how do I care for my tattoo?
Aftercare looks different for each person and each tattoo, so I will go over my recommendations with each client during their procedure, but there are a few things that always remain true: your new tattoo will need 72 hours of very special care and will take approximately 2-3 weeks to heal completely. Failure to properly care for your tattoo may result in damage to your skin and/or your new tattoo. Never subject a healing tattoo to chemicals, fragrances, or sun, and never submerge a healing tattoo in water (swimming, bathing, hot tubbing).
-
How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
You will be required to fill out and sign an intake form upon arrival. Please remember to bring your ID.
Please let us know in advance if you have ANY medical conditions or allergies so that we can plan appropriately.
Prepare your body-
We cannot work on skin that is damaged, broken, or sunburned.
We cannot work on you if you have had a recent joint replacement, or if you are taking antibiotics within 2 weeks BEFORE OR AFTER your procedure.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! The more hydrated you are (and your skin is) the less discomfort and irritation you will experience. I recommend drinking at least 32oz of water the day before your tattoo and another 32oz the morning of your appointment. Avoid things that dehydrate you in the 24 hours before your appointment, this includes caffeine and alcohol.
Dress comfortably and bring with you anything that comforts you (pillow, blanket, headphones, gum, snacks, fidget toys, etc) we have snacks, candy and water available for our clients but if there is anything else that you find comforting please feel free to bring it along.
If you are confident shaving the area please feel free to do so, if you would prefer we remove your hair for you we are happy to do that. We can not work on an area that has razor burn.
Show up sober, healthy, showered, hydrated, and fed.
