Live Mending @Toothpick

Bring your garments that need some love and visible mending! Hang and watch me work or drop off something for studio completion, and get a garment back that's ready for more life and wear. This is a DROP IN style offering, no registration is required. 

Things to Know:

  • This drop-in event focuses onmending (repairs), rather than alterations (resizing/redesigning)

  • I specialize in visible mending. All repairs are done with heart and art

  • Accepted fabrics: denim, cotton, linen, sweatshirts, tee-shirts

  • I'll have vintage/pre-loved fabrics on hand for patches. Have a special fabric in mind? Bring it in!

  • I do not offer zipper replacement

Mending Menu

Essential Mends (Generally done while you wait! Hang out and watch me work, or drop off and come back later)

  • Button replacement from $5 ea

  • Minor tears/seam pops (roughly under 3") from $10

  • Small patching + machine darning (roughly under 2-3") from $15

  • Belt loop repair from $15

  • Small sashiko hand-stitching repair (under 2-3") from $28 (may require drop off)

  • Hand stitched buttonhole touchup from $10

  • Simple single floral decorative hand embroidered hole/stain cover up (less than 1") from $28

Specialty Mends (Drop off for studio completion) Larger projects happily accepted! May be subject to 2-3 week lead time. Pricing varies, and bundle discounts are offered for multiple repairs.

  • Medium - large sashiko hand-stitching (3+ inches)

  • Crotch repair

  • Special materials 

  • Cool patchwork plans with multiple patched areas
