If you are a tattooer or visual artist looking to strengthen your design process and better understand how to create work that flows with the body, this workshop is for you. If you want a clearer, more practical approach to composition, layering, and real-world tattoo execution, this is a chance to learn directly from an experienced artist working in that space.
We are so thrilled to be hosting Dia Moeller, a Hungarian tattoo artist and illustrator currently working between Tucson, Arizona and Boston, Massachusetts. Dia has been tattooing and painting since 2010. Her work focuses on both color and black and grey realism, with a darker, painterly, vintage-influenced style that often incorporates botanicals, portraits, animals, and illustrative elements.
This is a two day workshop held at Toothpick Art Studio in Northern Arizona, running Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28.
Day one is focused on fundamentals and process. Dia will cover her approach to design, including how she thinks through subject matter, basic anatomy, and composition. She will walk through tattoo preparation, including how she selects references, creates stencils, and decides when to freehand. The day will also include how she builds tattoos in layers, working through underpainting, color, and detail, along with an overview of color theory and tattooing technique such as shading, lining, and building depth.
Day two is a full walkthrough of a tattoo session on skin from beginning to end. Dia will demonstrate her process from consultation through to the finished piece, allowing attendees to see how the concepts from day one are applied in practice.
This workshop is designed for tattooers and artists who want a structured look at process, technique, and decision making, and who value learning in a small group setting with direct access to the instructor.
Saturday June 27th 10am - 4pm(ish) AND Sunday June 28th 10am - 4pm (ish)
$250/student
Please note all sales are final.
