Join us Friday June 26th from 6-8pm for a gallery show opening at Toothpick! Introducing Call and Response: An Abstract Conversation by Ellen Greenblum-Siddons, on display Friday June 26th through Thursday August 27th. This collection of work represents experiments with non-figurative, visual improvisation. Each piece begins with one mark followed by a series of responses to that specific gesture with additional marks.  What emerges is not predicted or planned and often difficult to determine when resolved. Yet like many conversations, they find their way, sometimes easily and quickly and sometimes meander this way and that before feeling settled enough to let it go.

Artist Bio:

Ellen Greenblum-Siddons is Faculty Emerita at Prescott College where she taught for almost 30 years. She holds both a BFA and MFA focusing on contemporary art and social justice. Now retired she can fully indulge all of her creative practices as a mixed media artist and writer. 

Ellen hikes daily with her three big dogs, is a happy Oma (grandmother) of three, gardens and bakes organic dog biscuits.
