You are invited into an evening of Cha Dao — The Way of Tea — a contemplative tea ceremony rooted in simplicity, presence, and the quiet intimacy between water and leaf.
This is not a tasting.
Not a workshop.
Not a performance.
..but instead is a shared field of presence.
This ceremony moves at a pace slow enough to feel the spaces between moments. Slow enough to notice how attention itself begins to soften.
Tea will be prepared in silence using whole-leaf, traditionally crafted leaves. We will drink from bowls. We will sit close to the earth. There will be no analysis, no comparing notes, no striving to understand what is “good” or “correct.”
Instead, we practice noticing.
The steam rising.
The weight of the bowl in your palms.
The subtle shifts in breath.
The way silence gathers us.
The Way of Tea is less about learning something new and more about remembering something ancient: how to be with what is here without efforting to change or improve it.
Over the course of our 60 minutes together, you will:
• Sit in ceremony with others in intentional silence
• Receive several rounds of high-quality loose-leaf tea, prepared in the traditional bowl style
• Be gently guided into embodied awareness
• Experience tea as a living teacher rather than a product
No prior experience is needed.
Nothing is required of you.
There is nothing to perform.
…Come as you are.
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a floor cushion to sit on ..plan on arriving at least 10 minutes early to settle in. Once we begin, the container will be closed to preserve the quiet integrity of the space.
About your facilitator —
Aurora holds space through somatic presence and deep listening. Her work is rooted in the body as a site of remembering. Tea entered her life not as ritual performance, but as refuge — a simple practice of returning. This offering grows from that devotion.
