We'll practice on vintage bandanas, exploring the simple and useful art of hand chainstitching. Whether you're just starting or have experience with hand stitching, this session is great for anyone interested in adding a new skill to their toolkit.
Sunday, January 11th | 2:00 - 4:00 PM
In this 2 hour class, you will:
Learn the mechanics of the chainstitch and how to keep it consistent.
Get hands-on practice on vintage bandanas you'll take home.
Discover ways to use chainstitch for embroidering on clothes and other applications.
We'll explore script, using a 1940s font specially designed for chainstitch, plus methods for applying your own designs, or free-stitching using the bandana as inspiration.
Leave with the foundation to use this stitch in your own projects and the confidence to keep stitching!
All supplies are included.
Feel free to bring questions about how you might use chainstitch in your work, and any items from home you might want to embellish, I'm happy to brainstorm!
