Earrings are a gateway jewelry project—quick to make, endlessly customizable, and the perfect way to build skills you can use in future designs.
You’ll master three different knots as you create this leather earring collection. Each one is useful for making a variety of jewelry designs. By the end of the session, you’ll have three pairs of earrings and the skills and confidence to experiment on your own. These versatile techniques are easy to build on, opening the door to bracelets, necklaces, and more advanced projects.
Earrings are one of the oldest forms of jewelry, worn by cultures around the world for millenia. They have historically carried cultural significance and served as adornments for people of all ages, symbolizing identity, status, spirituality, and personal style.
Each student will be given the materials to make the earring trio along with printed instructions. Fish-hook style pierced earrings will be provided, but students are welcome to bring posts or clip-backs to use instead. We will also make custom earring display cards. Necessary tools will be provided for use while in class.
